Dr. Phillip N. Wheat
Dr. Phillip N. WheatDr. Wheat was born and raised in Benton, Illinois, and attended Southern Illinois University, receiving his Bachelor of Science in zoology in 1970. Following that, he attended the university of Illinois Medical Center, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery with Honors. Residency was completed in oral and maxillofacial surgery at university of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago from 1974 to 1978, receiving a specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Wheat has served as President of the G.V. Black Dental Society, President of the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, President of the Board of Directors of OMSPac (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Political Action Committee), and has served on the board for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Professional Conduct. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

Dr. Wheat has been in private practice in Springfield, Illinois, from 1978 through the present, and he is on hospital staff at St. John's Hospital, Memorial medical Center, Doctors Hospital, and Passavant Area Hospital. Dr. Wheat is also a Clinical Associate Professor at SIU School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery. He has extensive experience in most areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on reconstruction, dental implants, dento-alveolar surgery, and office anesthesia.

Dr. Russell A. Williams
Dr. Russell A. Williams

Dr. Williams grew up in Ohio. He received a BA degree from Vanderbilt University in 1972, and a DMD degree from Tuft's University in 1975. His oral and maxillofacial surgery residency was completed at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago in 1979, and he received a specialty certificate and an MS degree in oral maxillofacial surgery. After completing his military duty as Director, Oral Surgery Training, General Dental Residency at Fort Hood, Texas, Dr. Williams entered private practice in Springfield, Illinois, in 1981.

Dr. Williams is a Past President of the G.V. Black Dental Society, former Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Medical Center and St. John's Hospital. He is currently a member of the G.V. Black Dental Society, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Williams has been Board certified in oral maxillofacial surgery since 1981. He is presently a Clinical Assistant Professor at SIU School of Medicine, a Clinical Associate Professor at SIU School of Dental Medicine, and on hospital staff at St. John’s Hospital and Memorial Medical Center.

Dr. Louis D. Scannura
Dr. Scannura grew up in Long Island, New York, and received his BS degree in Biology from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1978, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1982. His residency was completed in oral and maxillofacial surgery at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1985.

He entered private practice in Springfield, Illinois in 1985. Dr. Scannura became Board certified in 1988. He is currently Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both St. John's Hospital and Memorial Medical Center. Other hospital affiliations include Doctors Hospital and Passavant Area Hospital. He serves as an examiner of the Office Anesthesia Evaluation program for the Illinois Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, he maintains membership in numerous dental and oral and maxillofacial surgical associations. Dr. Scannura is also a Clinical Associate Professor with the SIU School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery.

Dr. EriK K. Woolbright

Dr. Woolbright was born and raised in Southern Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois with a major in Zoology. He attended the University of Illinois Dental School and graduated in 1985, completing his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Cook County Hospital in 1988. He entered private practice in Springfield, Illinois in 1988.

Dr. Woolbright is currently President of the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Delegate to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Follow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and a member of numerous other oral surgery and dental societies. He is presently on staff at St. John's Hospital, Memorial Medical Center, and Passavant Area Hospital. Dr. Woolbright is also clinical Assistant Professor with the SIU School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Woolbright practices in all areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis in pediatric oral surgery, pathology, and office anesthesia.
